2009 Summary

falcon_small_sharp.gif

It has been a very busy sports season with athletes everywhere: in the gym, in the pool, and outside on the fields.  But what a season it's been; SHS athletes have been busy breaking records and making news!  This season our boys broke CCS swimming records and our girls set new SHS marks in Track and Field.

While it's been another season filled with wins and losses, we tried something new by adding LaCrosse, boys and girls.  And although the inaugural season was tough, kudos go to the players and coaches many of whom were new to the sport.  But we also saw many wins with several teams ranking in the top three in their leagues: Baseball, Tennis, Track and Field (Girls, F/S Boys), Swimming (V Boys).  Additional amazingly outstanding accomplishments include the Tennis boys who finished 2nd Place out of 106 teams competing at the state's High School Tennis Classic, Ailene Nguyen and Kiersten Dolbec winning top places in jumps at CCS Finals, Ailene Nguyen and Katie Gasik breaking school records, and Matt Murray, Brad Murray, Ian Burns, Ben Hinshaw, and Adam Hinshaw who together and individually broke numerous CCS records.

Adding to all of these the fifteen seniors that are going on to play college sports this fall, this spring season has truly been a grand finale to mark the end of the school year.

Go, Falcons!
