2008 - 2009 Summary

falcon_small_sharp.gif

Winter, the quietest of high school sports seasons was in fact not so quiet for the Falcons.  The Wrestling Team, for the first time in a decade, defeated league rival Los Gatos.  The team then went on to take three of the top four championship spots at CCS and competed at the state meet. The season also saw both the Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball teams reaching CCS Playoffs. On the soccer side, both Varsity Boys and Girls teams had a tough start, but both ended the season on a high note while the JV teams finished 1st and 2nd place in their leagues.

Varsity Boys Soccer - Head Coach: Brock Woodard

Record: 5-6-1 (League)

Placed 4th in El Camino Division

From Coach Woodard:

Our second half of the season was 3 times better than the first.  We had 1 win the first half of the season and 4 wins the second half.  The suffering and pain that we endured during the first half helped us develop the virtue of perseverance.  We continued to work hard through the tough times and found our legs in the second half.  It was a successful season in the area of character development and understanding perseverance and persistence. We beat Los Altos in the second half of the season, which was the first place team at that time. This proved to all the team members that they are great athletes and competent players.  I want to thank the parents and players for all the sacrifices they made in order to make this season a success.
