Parents and coaches from Saratoga High
School gathered in the
home of Godfrey and Suzanne Sullivan's on May 30 to help solve the age old dilemma--which wines are better, those from France or California?
Just like their student athletes, parents and coaches were eager to take on the challenge and help solve the debate
while raising money for SHS Sports Boosters. Wine glasses in hand, and suited
up for the job, they professionally tasted fine wines from both regions. The debates raged between the white wine drinkers
and red wine drinkers, but good sportsmanship prevailed as
glasses of Sauvignon Blanc, Sancerre, Pinot Noir, Cabernet
Sauvignon, and Burgundy
from both California and France
were tasted and scored. It was hard and tedious work, but it was obvious that the tasting teams had prepared and conditioned
in advance as there were no injuries reported, well except for a few headaches the next morning! A glass of the exclusive
Justice Cabernet was served to end the evening, and it was unanimously declared that the winner of the evening was
SHS athletics!
